Geotechnologies are an essential medium for assigning perspective value to cultural heritage as a dynamic expression of the territorial milieu. Starting from these considerations, this paper focuses on Apulia, a region with a cultural heritage almost totally devoid of imageability until the end of the XX century on a local scale, both on a supra-local scale. During the XXI century, thanks to the work of the Regional Authority, arrives at the construction of CartApulia (Apulian Cultural Heritage Mapping Project) and of regional Territorial Information System that not only allow to represent, read and perceive the complexity of Apulian landscape and cultural heritage, but they are a valuable tools to sanction the transition from “dominated periphery” to the “periphery that relies on its own strength” (Reynaud 1984).
